Given the current atrocities committed against Lebanese civilians in general and children in particular, the Sustainable Democracy Center (SDC) is launching a two-pronged campaign.
SDC volunteers are acting on an individual basis, given the danger of getting together due to the continuous random shelling. Some volunteers, residing in less hostile areas, have managed to join national relief groups and others are operating from their homes by collecting medicines, clothes, and prepared meals.
Humanitarian Urgent Aid Campaign:
More than sixty thousands of Lebanese have been displaced from south Lebanon and Beirut's Southern suburbs towards central Beirut. Families are taking shelters in public schools in dire conditions. They lack food, blankets, mattresses, medicine, and basic means of survival, not to mention their humiliation and sorrow. A woman was reported to have given birth in a public school without medical assistance. Save tomorrow's humanity today. We urgently need your financial help and in-kind support to supply them with the basics.
They desperately need your help to survive this brutal crisis.





Children�s Right to Play:
While much of the effort during war time centers on humanitarian aid, SDC is determined to give our children the right to play and aspire, the right to resist violence by peaceful and playful means, and the right to a Smile.
SDC, building on its expertise with educational games and projects for youth, will be designing programs for displaced children in their shelters in order to alleviate their fear and reinforce their belief in a peaceful and bright future. Their dignity and hope are hanging in the balance, YOU can make a difference.
SDC started offering thousands of its educational and fun board game "CORRUPTION" to displaced children. Our volunteers are organizing playing sessions with the displaced children. If any of you would like us to organize similar activities in your area, please do not hesitate to call on us.
